The experimental program presented in this paper is a technical evaluation based on the current paste fill mix design while changing the binder type and source to meet specific target properties. Potential use of binary and ternary blends of supplementary cementitious materials was investigated. The binders evaluated were selected based on availability to the Kidd Mine site. The paper presents results of the material characterisation, including tailings, binders and process water, as well as paste fill rheology and strength results. The best binder candidates were identified and proposed based on technical performance, cost, and source and production sustainability.
