Threaded bar includes the full range of solid modified bar geometries specifically known as threadbar, rebar, Gewi bar and continuous rolled thread bar. The dynamic test program quantified reinforcement system performance via dynamic force–displacement, velocity-time and acceleration-time relationships. Peaks of the relationships in conjunction with energy dissipated by the reinforcement system allow ranking and interpretation of a catalogue of results. The performance of the reinforcement systems to dynamic load is controlled by the rate of debonding between the reinforcing element and the encapsulation medium, and the capacity of the reinforcing element to dissipate energy through plastic deformation.
