An important testing program including, mix design optimisation, laboratory and in situ underground tests on early and later age performances is presented. Tests results show that the shotcrete mix developed can provide a compressive strength of 20 MPa in only 2 h after shooting. Based on these results, the use of a CSA cement based dry-mix shotcrete mixture appears to provide a robust and promising solution for ground support in mining and tunnelling applications.
