Abstract: Brucejack mine has been operating a paste backfill system since June 2017. In this case study, the reasons for adopting a paste backfill system will be reviewed, and actual operating conditions will be compared with the earlier envisaged design conditions. Lessons learned will be shared to provide for operational insights around the backfill system and GEHO® hydraulic piston pumps that are used for pumping paste backfill.
