The test consisted of setting the plates on two supports 8 cm apart and then applying load to the centre of the plate. It was found that the maximum load ranged from 30 to 60 kN depending on the plate design. Such loads are significantly lower than those obtained from tests in which the plate is loaded against a flat surface.
