This model can consider the effect of both confining pressure and loading rate in the same formulation. Furthermore, the deformation mechanisms for shear deformation and hydrostatic compression are considered separately. For both static shear deformation and dynamic loading, the meso-shear strength is assumed to follow the Weibull distribution and is then linked to a damage variable. For hydrostatic deformation, a variable equivalent compressibility modulus is introduced. Finally, this constitutive model is verified through three sets of experimental data.
