The focus of the main project was to analyse the effects of improved quality on advanced rates and costs. A baseline was developed at the LKAB mine at Malmberget to suggest short-term improvements. The improvements were implemented and the following results compared with the baseline. Important conclusions from the work were the need to improve overall planning and communication as well as the need for step-changes in the approach to ground support. Nordic Rock Tech Centre (RTC) therefore initiated a mining initiative on the development of ground support systems and equipment in which several major mining companies in Sweden, Canada, Poland and Finland collaborated with major equipment suppliers. %1 Perth %I Australian Centre for Geomechanics %U https://papers.acg.uwa.edu.au/p/902_18_Hedstrom/ %R 10.36487/ACG_repo/902_18
